Story
From 100 to 0 — and back.
For twenty years my path led straight up: an international banking career, large teams, relentless speed. Then, on a single day in the Swiss Alps, that world ended on 25 metres of mountain road. A mountain bike accident with minimal chance of survival. Tetraplegia. Intensive care. From 100 to 0.
In rehabilitation I relearned two words: relax and patience. Letting go, again and again. Step by step. And I discovered what holds you when everything else stands still: people who are there. Gratitude. And the strength to keep moving forward.
Fall
The moment that changed everything. No hero’s epic – simply what happened, and the question of how life can go on.
Silence
Lying, waiting, enduring. The time in hospital and rehab – and the surprising discovery that silence can also hold you.
